She holds a Bachelor of Nursing Science from the University of Limpopo (formerly Medunsa) and established a strong clinical foundation at Steve Biko Academic Hospital, where she served for nine years across specialised departments including the Labour Ward, Ophthalmology, Trauma and Emergency, and the Cardiothoracic Unit. Over the years, she has intentionally expanded her career beyond bedside nursing into clinical facilitation. She holds certifications in Integrated Case Management, ICD-10 Coding, and Key Account Management, reflecting her commitment to both clinical excellence and healthcare systems efficiency. Currently, Girly works part-time as a clinical facilitator, agency nurse, and travelling service provider for Next Biosciences, delivering healthcare services across diverse clinical settings. Her work demonstrates adaptability, professionalism, and a consistent commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care in dynamic environments. Deeply passionate about advancing the nursing profession beyond traditional roles, she has a growing interest in artificial intelligence in healthcare, innovation, and continuous professional development. Lulama is the founder of I AM A CSSD TECHNICIAN, an initiative dedicated to supporting and empowering CSSD teams in their critical role in medical device reprocessing and infection prevention. A trained Enrolled Nurse from Life Healthcare College of Learning, Lulama has extensive experience in CSSD and theatre nursing, having worked as a CSSD Technician, Theatre Nurse, CSSD Supervisor, and CSSD Manager in various hospitals. Since 2023, Lulama has facilitated CSSD Orientation and Leadership workshops, training and certifying over 400 CSSD professionals. Lulama is also an Infection Control Africa Network certified IPC Facilitator, a Cohsasa-trained CSSD auditor, and an IPC Link Nurse trained through Netcare. Lulama is passionate about strengthening sterile services practices and improving patient safety through education and leadership.

Clinical Epidemiologist
Nqobile Ngoma is a strategic clinical epidemiologist and implementation scientist with 10+ years leading public health initiatives and health systems research. As Senior Clinical Solutions Executive, she leads health system partnerships and diagnostic stewardship across Africa. Simultaneously pursuing a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at UCL and an Implementation Science Fellowship at Washington University, she researches STI integration, HIV prevention, and maternal/adolescent health in rural South Africa. With 20+ peer-reviewed publications and presentations at major international conferences (HIVR4P, World Congress of Epidemiology, TEPHENET, FIDSSA, AFENET, STI & HIV World Congress), she is recognized as a health system expert. Her clinical background infuses her work with pragmatic understanding of what actually works in resource-limited settings.

Dr. Gugulethu Nhleko is a distinguished medical doctor and Tuberculosis (TB) Clinical Advisor with extensive expertise in HIV and TB program implementation across South Africa. Driven by a profound passion for health education, she has dedicated her career to strengthening health systems and improving patient outcomes through clinical excellence and mentorship. Dr. Nhleko earned her MBChB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2016. Her commitment to public health solidified during her community service at a district hospital in Mpumalanga, where she transitioned from Medical Officer to Head Clinician of the HIV/TB Unit. In this leadership role, she spearheaded clinical services and successfully optimized program implementation for integrated HIV and TB care. She holds a Diploma in HIV Management from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) and is renowned for facilitating advanced training in both drug-sensitive (DS-TB) and drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) management. In 2024, she joined a Global Fund Sub-Recipient as a Medical Officer, where she currently empowers healthcare teams through clinical mentorship, capacity building, and enhancing TB service delivery. Her contributions to the field were recognised globally in 2024 when she was awarded Educator of the Year and named the Most Voted Healthcare Professional at the African Health Excellence Awards. Dr. Nhleko's work centers on refining TB diagnostic accuracy, advancing the management of complex drug-resistant cases, and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the healthcare workforce. She remains a leading voice in the effort to bridge the gap between clinical policy and frontline patient care

She served on the National Standard Treatment Guidelines and Essential Medicines List Expert Review Committee for the paediatric hospital level, from which the guidelines being discussed today are derived.
Dr. Munyadziwa Kwinda

Dr. Munyadziwa Kwinda is a Medical Specialist in Family Medicine (MBChB & MMed Fam Med) with expertise in Health Law and Ethics, for which he holds an MSc Med (Bioethics and Health Law) from the University of Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) with the University of South Africa. His initial degree was a Bachelor of Science from the University of Venda. Dr Kwinda is currently Chief Executive Officer at Tshiamiso Trust (from 01 June 2023). Tshiamiso Trust manages thousands of claims for mineworkers eligible for compensation due to contracting silicosis and work-related TB from working in certain gold mines during 12 March 1965 to 10 December 2019. Before joining Tshiamiso Trust, Dr Kwinda was Ombudsman at the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) for more than nine (9) years and has acted in different roles at HPCSA, including acting as Chief Operations Officer and Registrar/Chief Executive Officer and establishing the Complaints Handling and Investigation Division. Dr Kwinda was appointed as Senior Medical Superintendent (Senior Clinical Manager) of Donald Fraser Hospital in Limpopo immediately after his community service and served in that position for eight (8) after which he was appointed as a Medical Specialist in Family Medicine at Tshilidzini Hospital and also managed the National Health Insurance Pilot Project in Limpopo before joining the HPCSA as Ombudsman. Dr. Kwinda has been involved in different leadership and teaching roles at both a professional level and community level, some of which are: 1.
