Management of Drug Resistant TB

This clinical training program serves to up-skill nurses to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent the spread of uncomplicated Drug Resistant TB (MDR TB). 16 CPDs are allocated.
This course outlines clinical guidance on Latent TB Infection treatment by utilising INH only or short-course Latent TB Infection treatment regimen of 3HP a once weekly Isoniazid and Rifapentine for 12 weeks (3HP). 8 CPD points are allocated.
This micro-lesson will outline the procedure for quality TB screening and testing to minimize avoidable delays in the diagnosis and treatment thus reducing TB transmission. 2 CPDs are allocated.
Health Care Professionals will be equipped with knowledge and skills to diagnose HIV, assess people living with HIV, investigate, initiate ART, monitor and manage patients failing 1st line ART regimens. 30 CPD points are allocated
This course focuses on core knowledge and skills for the management of unstable HIV positive patients with opportunistic infections, co-morbidities or failing 2nd line ARVs therefore in need of 3rd line ARV regimens. 30 CPD points are allocated.
Underdiagnosis of TB is a principal barrier to combatting the disease. Consequently, the emergence of easier to use, point-of-care tests using urine to identify TB have been a welcome addition to the TB diagnostics environment. 2 CPDs are allocated.
