About the event
Seminars in Nutrition and Dietetics - Food and Culture
Food is seen as more than just a means of survival. It is considered to be multidimensional, as something that shapes us, our identities, and our cultures and in the end, our society. An appreciation of the interaction of culture, nutrition and health may be of benefit to Healthcare Workers (HCWs) in clinical practice and to prevent nutrition related chronic diseases. It is therefore essential for HCWs to have an intimate detailed knowledge of the people’s beliefs, attitudes, knowledge and behaviour before attempting to introduce any interventions.
