About the event
The Clinical Care Platform has put together what we call “Smart Skills” which are a combination of essential soft and hard skills needed to enhance the ability of clinicians to be successful as healthcare leaders and administrators.
Evidence-based decision making is enhanced by a sound demand for health information, the collection and analysis of health data, making information available to decision makers, and finally, from facilitating use of information to improve health system performance. This Smart Skills program aims to increase the skills of healthcare workers and healthcare managers to conduct basic data analysis, interpretation and use for healthcare improvement. Specific learning objectives include:
- Raise awareness on the importance of data in decision making
- To improve understanding of statistical and M&E concepts in data analysis
- To build skills in basic data analysis, including target setting.
- To enhance skills in data interpretation and presentation.
- Build participant capacity to apply Data Demand and Use concepts and tools.

The course is aimed for healthcare professionals, information officers, program managers, leaders and adminstrators.
Course Design
The course is offered via an 8 hour live virtual workshop on Zoom.
Accreditation
Accredited for 7 CPDs according to the HPCSA’s Medical and Dental Board Guidelines for Healthcare Professions
Assessment
Participants will be assessed through a series of execises and case studies.
