Ms Ntsieni Teresia Dzhugudzha
Occupational Therapy Lecturer, MPH (SMU)
Mrs. Teresia Dzhugudzha matriculated in 2001 with an exemption at Tshikhula Secondary School in Limpopo Vhembe district. She graduated from the University of Limpopo (MEDUNSA CAMPUS).
She is a candidate for PhD in Occupational therapy at the University of Pretoria since January 2019 to date. Her dissertation has been submitted for the exam. The title of her PhD is" The Development of a conceptual framework of school-to-work Transition for Learners with Mild Intellectual Disability in Tshwane, Gauteng Province"
She has 19 years of clinical experience working in the Department of Health (public and private) as an Occupational Therapist on different levels, Patient Care, Report writing, Management and Co-ordination.
She has been a lecturer in the Occupational Therapy Department of Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) since 1 August 2017. She is currently teaching undergraduate Occupational Therapy
(OT) students, responsible for aspects of Pediatrics Intervention Theory in the second and third year, and final year Occupational Therapy Applied- Pediatrics. She is also a class counselor for 3rd-year Occupational Therapy students. She serves on the School of Healthcare Science community engagement committee, Oath-taking committee, and research committee.
Part of her community engagement includes educating parents and educators about Paeds medical conditions that affect children from participation in different occupations, including education. The focus of her presentation was more of Early Childhood Development and the occupational therapist's role in this regard. She has been a speaker for graduation ceremonies in different Early Childhood Centres around Garankuwa and Mabopane.
