Dr. Thabiso Mofokeng

Ophthalmologist: MBCHB (Natal), Dip Ophth (SA), FC Ophth (SA), MMED (Wits)

Dr Thabiso Mofokeng qualified as a medical doctor in 1999 from UKZN. After community service he spent eight months as a registrar in the Department of Orthopaedics at King Edward viii Hospital before embarking on a successful GP practice in Tokoza (East Rand) from August 2002 – 2015. He joined the Wits circuit Ophthalmology Registrar programme in August 2018 to July 2022. During his registrar time he presented a case report in the 2020 International Ophthalmology Conference (IOC) and a report of his thesis in the African Ophthalmology Conference (AOC). His Mmed research was published in the 2023 Spring edition of the South African Ophthalmology Journal (SAOJ), the official journal of Ophthalmological Society of South Africa. Dr Mofokeng is a general ophthalmologist in private practice at Safesight Cataract and Eye Laser Centre based in Morningside,Sandton.
